Polo rad thermo switch
I have wired my fan to the thermo switch in the polo rad but i want to check it works before we run the engine at the weekend. I put it in a cup of
water from the just boiled kettle last week but i couldnt get a reading on the multimeter.
Im going to 'borrow' mums kettle later but just wanted to ask if anyone knew what temperature it is supposed to switch at?
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

think its on at 90 off at 83, however it does depend on what polo the rad was fitted to.
maybe you'll be better off with an adjustable one so you can set it to the same temp the jag engine one works/ed at?

Normally they should have the operating temprature stamped into their body.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Depends 22m mm switches can be anywhere from 82c to 120c !
ISTR on the Polo rad the switch is about halfway up one of the end tanks so about 88 to 95 c is about right.
---- switch off temp is normally 5 to 9 degrees lower than the on temp

As JGG says the operating temperatures are normally on the body of the switch BUT I think you will be in hot water if your mum catches you!
