Too much engine?
I've been doing my homework for my build and have found the engines out of a toyota supra for a decent price. has anyone used one before that
has any advice? I'm guessing i'll have to stretch my frame but i don't know if other mods (like strengthen the frame) i should put
into the plans. Or am i being daft by trying to make it work in the first place?
Cheers

its probably not strictly in line with the great Mr Chapmans philosophy of reducing weight to go faster, but that doesn't seem to bother a lot
of people on here.
The only thing is that it will be more work with no-one to tell you how to do it because it hasn't been done before.
good luck though

I was going to do it but the shear size and weight put me of, however, some people have had no problems fitting essex v6, jag etc so I can't see
any real problems but I would imagine it will be a bit nose heavy and suffer from understear a bit. maybe better to build chassis around the engine
and gearbox?

Too much engine? yup probably and all these people building tiny cars with HUGE heavy engines are never going to admit they've made a mistake
when they wont go round corners so hey... go for it

Ít´s only `too big´ if it doesn´t physically fit!
I´m now committed to putting an Audi B7 RS4 into a Se7en Rep! At 170KG it´s no BEC lump, but with 400+BHP who cares!
A good suspension set-up and sticky rubber will take care of the corners (and big brakes will take care of the stopping!).

PS - what I´m trying to say is that my skill levels and car use (road) would never let me exploit the full potential of a lightweight Se7en anyway.

I extended my chassis to accomodate my engine. Also do a search for the V10 viper 7.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

I would make the front wishbones out of a larger diameter tupe. I have a zetec fitted and managed to bend the front wishbones

Those Supra engines are however extremly expensive if they go wrong... cams run in the heads without bearings so unless its got good providence part
with the money with care.
Make sure you get the manual Gbox with it, the auto with overdrive from my experince was a sluggish performance destroying lump.
