Custom Aluminium Radiator
I need a custom aluminium radiator made up, does anyone know a good manufacturere that isn't going to charge an arm and a leg?
I've been looking at some Chinese imports but they are a little on the large side, but they are are pretty cheap. I do know the quality
isn't great, but this is for an additional radiator so it doesn't have to be top quality core.

Whatever/wherever you look I would expect to pay around £200-250 for an ali polo rad.
One of the advertisers on this site does them IIRC.

look on evay - there are quiet a few - but none in my size either.
...... but I wonder how difficult it would be to cut one down to size and find someone to TIG weld it up?
Anyone tried this?
Cutting the little thin matrix strips may prove interesting.
.... and as you say, there are quite a few from China but all for Jap cars so too big - I wonder if they have ability to make a smaller one?

Made a rad with a pal once from a Vauxhall core. We cut off the original end tanks and bent the core over a wooden former to the required radius.
The hardest part was making the end plates that slip over the eliptical water passages in the core.
In the end we made a punch the same shape and unsed a printed paper guide to punch all the holes in the right place with a flypress. It took bloody
ages.
We had planned to ali weld each of the water passages but this proved to be next to impossible. Eventually we found a Ciba Geigy product that was a
silicone based goo that flowed on the end plate and sealed the water passages.
The end tanks we just fabricated as normal.
The rad worked well in the end. It was used on a 500 GP bike in Malaysia.
My overiding memory of the whole affair was that the thieving barstewards who we made it for never ever paid us One day...........

^^^ but how many arms and legs do they charge?
the rads on ebay (wrong size) come in under £ 100 so doubt anyone in UK can match that.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Brass rads are a lot easier to custom build and aren't that much heavier --- most of the weight is water anyway.
