Thumbs up for Scholar

Took the Duratec crank down to Scholar engines in Stowmarket today to get the keyways cut in the pulley, timing gear and crank.

Excellent service, did it while I waited, took 2 hours all in and it was a very resonable price at £50 as well considering how much others charge for the same service... No hassle even about keying my own crank pulley rather than the std one.

Friendly bunch of guys and very helpful. Highly recommended

This was just before they both told me how tough times were..... well my money might have helped... loosers!

£50 for two hours in a machine shop is brilliant.

they took my pinto bottom end out to 2.1 supplied and fitted pistons, reground crank, lightened and doweled flywheel and balanced the lot before reassebling it all for me... for £800
bit of a pinch at the time but in hindsight good value IMHO

There's a little firm here in Clay Cross that does all that stuff, car work no problem, called Cotterel Engineering.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
