honda blackbird air inlet question
Hi all, i having a few problems desciding how to do the air inlet in a 2002 honda super blackbird engine running fuel injetion,
the engine came with a ram air box including a sensor in the box, i presume to be preasure.
problem i have i cannot use the origional bix its just not practical and would obscure forward vision for IVA also i tryed making a fibreglass bonnet
incuding a scoop and then i small air box around the inlet so that the bonnet scoop forms the top part of the air box, 2 problems with that my i think
i am going to have the same problem with it obscuring forward vision and fibreglass is not one of my best friends..
so.. can i just use a foam filter across the inlets and stick the sensor into the foam?
also the inlets have a set of plastic trumpets before the butterflys how much detremental effect would removing these have?
Any help and advice whould be great as this is the main job stopping me going for IVA
Thanks Very much

hi don't remove the plastic trumpets just fit itg socks on them and yes put the sensor next to the socks works fine for most hope this is a
little help
also if you do remove the trumpets you will have a loss of low down power

The sensor that is in the airbox should be a temperature sensor to adjust the mixture according to how warm or cold the incoming air is. It is not a
pressure sensor.
Therefore, it is still required and should be fitted in an area where it can measure the air temperature before it goes in to the throttle bodies.

You could always do what i did and 'modify' std airbox to fit a sausage filter thus keeping the trumpets..... pics below.
All fits under dax bonnet scoop
