Lining duratec for main studs

Hi all,
going to pick up my duratec bottom end from Scholar 2mo but there is something on i i never heard of and didn't know it needed, will ask 2mo but hoping someone on here may have the knowledge.

It says:

Line hone mains for ARP studs

now i gather its to do with the ARP stud kit i gave them for assembly but anyone hear dof it before and why i need it??

as flak says, not "really" needed, but one of those things that is why scholar engines cost a bit but then don't tend to go bang.

As is usual in life you pays yer money and takes yer choice. Good to see that your money is being spent on engineering and not the MD's new 4x4

Darren, the idea is that you install the mains, (in this instance), and they are honed so that they run absolutely straight with the crank, hardly any material is removed its just to align them perfectly. Cheers Ray

thanks for the info guys, had a word with them when i picked it up and they said it is def best practice but should last up well.
It looks amazing though, will get some pics up once i finished painting the block.
The car is for road and track use, but what it built to take punishment, just gotta get my uprated valve springs ordered then stick it together.
Cant wait, will def be fun.

I will have a spare set of uprated valve springs.

Ended up with 2 brand new sets, dont ask how!
