what's a 2.1 pinto worth these days? (not selling just wondering)
being mid winter and having 4" of snow on the ground means i've got too much time to sit around thinking and it's got me back on to
thinking about converting to the zetec i've got sat in the garage.
my indy is currently fitted with a 1983 pinto, fully rebuilt 1000 miles ago and bored out to 2100cc, complete with stage 1 head, kent fr32 cam,
rebuilt webber dgav carb, bestek ignition system and obviously shortened sump.
now this isn't a forsale thread, i have no intention of selling it as it's still in the car, i will be using it and i've got too
much work to do on my house over the next few months! but i'm just curious as to what kind of money it would fetch to put towards the zetec
conversion.
many thanks
john

Why swap you have the better engine in your car now
your pinto will have more power then a standard zetec
it will be interesting to see what people think your pinto is worth as its about the same as mine

i'm not expecting massive power hikes i'd just like something a little more modern and refined with a little less weight. the zetec engine
has cost me nothing apart from a gasket set as a mate had it for his fiesta, spent a fortune having it built by some muppets who claimed to be racing
engine specialists, all lightened, balanced etc then 500 miles later it started smoking, he spat his dummy out and decided to bin it so i kindly took
it off his hands and turns out the problem is purely stem seals
