mx5 mk1 gearbox
hi all, does anybody got the dimmesions off a mx5 mk1 1.6 gearbox?
or know if it fits in a mk indy tunnel without modifaction?

Just a quick bit of related advice, try not to get the very early box as it only has a single syncro between 1st and 2nd. Blipping the throttle to
smooth out the change is very rewarding mind you.

I had to cut some alloy off my MK1 MX5 gearbox
There's a really big 'chunk' on the tail end of the gearbox which takes two very long M10'ish bolts that attach the gearbox
directly to the X-frame chassis.
I cut this ALL off to get it into the transmission tunnel on my Stuart Taylor chassis. It's still quite tight - less than 10mm clearance in
place. It's caused no problems so far and I've done about 7000 miles since completing the car.
