Slow Progress......

I repaired the oil leak (melted oil return) and fitted the 21T MAP Sensor. Just need to swap the ECU's over and its ready for test firing! The N/A ECU doesnt like the new MAP sensor and It runs really rich so i started seeing pink elephants in the garage!
Fingers crossed for getting this done tomorrow.....

If this fails, i will definitely be fitting a 2.9L Cosworth V6.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

I have, nd ive even got a picture of it on my desktop, looked at the re-assembly (pictures), replacement parts for the damaged ones and what i want it to look like. Ive even planned a supercharger on the top which should fit nicely!!

Ive tried the new ECU purely out of impatience and wonder. I couldnt sleep tonight knowing that id have to wait until tomorrow to see if it works. Guess what............

It doesnt!! It fires up, but then cuts off as soon as it starts. Another sensor in need of replacement i think, but i need to do some more digging before condemning it completely.

The cosworth will fit as well i reckon..... - Not that i keep thinking about it or anything........ cosworth..........

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

No worries, stay away from the sheep! - theyre all too loose.... allegedly!

The V6 is looking like a definite. Went to a guys house tonight from the R21 forum (helpful chap) and i got the feeling that we had met before. Anyway, it came to me in a moment of clarity that i met him for about 20 minutes 12 YEARS AGO!!

How did i remember that! - I cant remember what i did this morning!!!

Anyway, hes well into his renaults, and its looking like its going to be a nightmare!

Got one more thing to try tomorrow, then it will be back to standard, whip it out, and see if the cossie engine arrives!
Then ill decide if thats going in or the 2L turbo.

Enjoy.

Richard.

Tried the 21Turbo water temp sensor today and it still starts but dies. May be a fuelling problem because of running the standard injectors.

Also had a very long conversation with Top Boss Performance, who seemed very knowledgable and helpful with the cosworth engine!!
Quite useful really, seeing as im running our of options on the renault engine.
