Decision Reached.
For those of you that have been following the progress, ive reached a decision with what im going to do with the Engine in the kit car. Ive deccided
i am going to embark upon the Cosworth V6 journey and sell all of the renault stuff (except gearboxes) that i have.
For those of you that have seen my indeciveness in the past, its true!!
So, anyone with any advice or experience with this engine would be welcomed to offer it, as im sure the project will carry some serious challenges!
Im actually quite excited, as it gives me an opportunity to strip out all of the old rusty crap and replace it with shiney new crap!
The fuel tank can be changed for a better thought out product, the fuel filler moved to a place that doesnt promote water to enter the tank, new
cooling system, fans and control, and of course, cosmetic repairs and cleaning up of the chassis.
Tax runs out at the end of this month anyway, so its quite a timely decision, although it does mean that i wont have the car on the road this summer
Watch this space. I might put a web diary up, but we'll see.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

IMHO i would suggest, get the Renault engine running for now, and leave the transplant for next year. It will give you time to get the engine and
prepare it for winter upgrade and save some money.

Is it strange to fancy an engine! - ??
Ive always wanted to play with one ever since i saw one ages ago, and the torque and available power Vs the strength of the engine just makes
sense.

At the moment, the tax runs out this month, and the renault project is eating more money that i need it to! I could return it to N/A and leave the
turbo off, but the rest of the car is on hold until the mechanics are sorted, so thats number one on the list really. Once the engine is done and
reliable, then i can carry out a rolling restoration to the rest of it.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

But they are like rocking horse shit, and the weaker parts for the BOB Cosworth engine are cheap.

Can't remember who...but someone on here is building an RS4 audi V8 which may come up for sale (if i read it right).
That would be sweet as......
Just a thought (then you could use an Audi transaxel too)

Some on here will kill you for mentioning that. Do you know how many "Change of Plan" announcements ive made on this car!!!
A V8 is too long, and wont fit the engine bay. The cosworth V6 should be just about perfect.

Richard.

I`m using a boa engine, nice engine.
Made my own ecu, running a sequential twin turbo setup.
Looking to make up a steel head gasket to fit to it, so i can lower compression, as it is a bit high at 9.7 : 1.
Manifold is a bit high, looking to make a lower unit by getting a water-cut ali plenum.

Got any photos darren? Interested to see how you have the turbos installed. Quad turbo makes sense as well, to reduce lag.

Richard.
