Type 9 gearbox

Further to my previous post about the synchromesh failing in my type 9, i have now obtained a replacement.

A big thanks must go to Jake_truck,for said gearbox as he gave it to me for nothing- Thanks John

I have removed the top cover and had a good look inside, all looks fine.
Is there anything i should pay particular attention to before i put it in the car??
Also the tin cover that fits in the back, just behind the gearlever is missing, can anyone point me in the right direction to buy a new one?

Many thanks,

Andy

Andy, Might be worth replacing the tail shaft oil seal while you are at it?
Re the dust cover plate, daft question can you not use the one out of your old box? If not what about a making a neatly cut one out of ally & PU it if needed.
cheers D

Cheers D,

I will replace the tail seal,I thought about asing the cover from my old one.
I was just a touch worried about it dropping out once fitted.
I have a nice piece of 1.5mm ally i can use to make one up.
