Viva speedo to type 9 gearbox?

The speedo drive just about fits into the type 9 gearbox, I would just need to cramp the bigger end on from a type 9 cable.
How accurate would the speedo be. The speedo is from the 1256 viva?

You need to know the turns per mile of the speedo (TPM) might be in a tiny font at the bottom of the speedo dial ---- should be a number (no letters) usually something roughly in the range 850 to 1300. With Ford based cars often a 1000 tpm speedo will give the correct reading without recalibration, if you post the diff ratio, tyre size and colour of the nylon speed drive worm gear in the gearbox I might be able to do the sums for you.

The Viva speedos were pretty awful if you want a proper chrome rim mechanical I have a brand new old stock one in the shed, its a Triump Spifire one from a BL dealers oil stock, 120mph, 1000tpm and comes with the correct cable to link it to a type 9 gearbox. £25 quid inc p&p
