Anybody on here using zetec se 1.6 need to know what tuning posibilitys are

There's a few - have a look at the Shawspeed website for some tuning tips.

I think the general concencus is its a nice light engine with plenty of potential........ but not as cheap or easy as a 1.8 or 2L to tune and get parts for.

Edit - whats happened to Shawspeed?? Cant find them!!

Looks like their site has been taken down - tried to contact them couple of weeks back got no response.

I looked into the SE engine nice and light revs to 8500 can be highly tuned.

By the time you had sourced a lowered sump and a bell housing and mounting brackets etc worked out very expensive.

Caterham have lots of bits as they used this unit to replace their Rover Engine.

Zetec is much easier and gets similar results.





Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016
