Pinto Exhaust manifold gasket ?

I have the standard Pinto exhaust manifold fitted - It goes from the 4 outlets to a 2 piece and then onto the "home made" pipe. I notice today that it is blowing where the large manifold drops down to and joins the 2 hole section. I have been looking for a gasket for this piece, with no luck.

Would it have had a gasket when on the original vehicle ?

Yes it would have. I popped round to a local kwikfit and got a couple for free. If kwitfit did it for free other exhaust places should or be reasonable at least.

Had problems getting mine to seal but sorted in the end with a fair bit of exhaust paste. Don't be tempted to keep tightening the nuts as on mine the threads stop short of the manifold by slightly more than the thickness of the flange. Sould be ok with gasket and washers if needed.

Guess I'll have to as well 'cos I'm gonna need one too.

BTW, anyone know if it would be a disaster if I were to have a spacer in there which was thicker at one end than the other (if you get what I mean) so the exhaust comes out slightly out of line - I need to try and gain a little more clearance.

It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......
