Overheating 4AGE 20v
Headed down to the Southern Kit Car Club meet at the Chalet Cafe today. Nice to meet all you guys
On the way home I had a small issue with the car overheating. The temperature started to rise very quickly , didn't even make Horsham. As I
pulled over to investigate it spluttered, stopped then wouldn't restart.
I had to get the RAC out to help me get it going having topped up the missing vital fluids.
I had coolant in the header/expansion tank but the radiator was almost empty.
I've got circulation as the inlet and outlet pipes where equally hot hence the water pump appears to be fine.
No obvious leaks anywhere in the system.
I managed to get home with the RAC following me. Lost no more fliud and the temperature stayed at a constant 80c all the way.
The question is, how and where did I lose the coolant in the raditior to start with.
I assume that when I had the engine rebuilt the system either had some air in it or wasn't topped up properly (I didn't do this job).
Any other ideas as to probable cause?

It was done about a year ago when I had the engine rebuilt. I've not done many miles since - 500 ish.
Some of those where on a trackday at Goodwood.
It's been sat in the garage for the past 7 months.

You have U2U.
Not good mate. May be Justin will have an opinion!
Hope you find the fault and come out again.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!
