Oh dear.. Pipe just burst...
just had a coolant pipe burst on the c20xe westfield.. Its under the distributor and looks like a blanking pipe (my guess is it use to go to the
heater matrix on the original car) - although not sure where to get another from?
Any ideas..

dont need a pic, i can see it in my garage  .
My xe has the core plug fitted and it seems to be doing alright

On some engines you need to connect the heater in-out connections together, with a link pipe, as the water flow relies on it, if you blank them you
get hotspots.
I don't know whether the xe requires it - but I'm sure NS Dev will know the answer.

been told by a few folk to just balnk them off. i've got a xev right enough, but what i did was removed the front heater hose thingy, and stick
a thin piece of ali plate behind it, and put it back on. the ali hose connection block thingy is needed to mount the alternator

yes its a core plug, thats what theyre designed to do.
If you look at your engine youll notice they are used along the sides of the block in exactly the same way to seal the water jacket.
put a tiny amount of sealant around the plug if you want to be doubly sure
