OT Bearing Noise from engine
Off Topic
My 2.0L 16v Scorpio started to make a bearing noise from the front of the engine today. Don't exactly know what is making the noise.
Has anyone any ideas as to what would be making the racket?

I suspected that it has to be one of the four - Alternator, Water pump, Power steering or Air conditioning pump. Although I would not have thought the
crank-pulley bearing would have gone. It sounds very dry and raspy/harsh!
Haven't had a chance to have a look at it yet; thought that there might be a common one to fail.

That's one I would never have thought of.

Pop the end belt off and turn everything (apart from the crank!) by hand. If any bearings are not 100% then they should be easy to spot.
