I have a 1.8 Mazda MX5 engine (MZR - pretty much a Duratec, but with VVT).

Depends, the older NA/NB BP engines bolt straight up to the same NA or NB MX-5 gearbox, which is a pretty light and good shifting unit imho. The BP engine is a little on the heavy side but has a lot of potential for tuning.

The newer Duratech based MX5 (NC) engines bolt either to a T9 with a different bell house or to the NC 6-Speed gearbox. I'd go for the latter option, you'll have an all ally driveline with pretty good ratios. It might be on the expensive side though!

Mazda 6 speeder is mighty heavy, better off with the much lighter 5 speeder imo.

your location?

I have pre '95 2.0 litre block, disassembled with other bits - don;t think there is flywheel plus a 1.8 zetac assembled and more complete, plus full gasket set (that alone cost more than £ 50)

don't even ask why

u2u me with serious offer I cannot refuse.

Easier to just use the Mazda box! The one I have going spare is an 08 engine... comes with 5-speed box attached. I need the space, so would sell them for £850. Factor in around £50 for pallet delivery.
