ECU flashing remapping
has anyone on here used one of these units if so what was the outcome, I have a Golf 1.8 turbo 150 bhp and looking to squeeze a bit more power for
locost. Alternative price is £250 for a remap

as i understand it that kit will just reflash the ecu with a new map
if you don't have the map file to flash then its completley useless
don't know if you can save original map so you can re flash back to standard but if you can then i would guess it may just work bit risky though
these things have a way of going wrong or tits up as its known

You'd be better off getting a custom re-map on a rolling road once you'd adapted it to suit your kit application.

Without a rolling road session or fitting a wideband sensor, how will you know the fueling is safe?

apparently it comes with loads of pre made maps for a wide range of cars. It appears that no one has used one as far as I can see. I dont fancy being
the first to try then have to cry

I'd say it is rather risky to upload someone else's map and expect a power increase - so much depends on your individual engine's
setup and you could seriously damage your engine. If however you first install a wideband lambda sensor and gauge, it looks quite useful if you are
able to tweak the right settings.
