Megasquirt or megajolt for ignition-only?

I have a dilemma. My trusty Triumph Toledo (don't laugh, it does a whole lot of grassroots motorsport from PCT's to night rallies) needs some attention to the ignition. ie old skool high CR, high lift cam etc fitted. Distributors are not really ideal as better is available.
Now, I have "going spare" a megasquirt v2.2, loaded with extra code apparently.
Would this be viable for sparks only? if so, where could I get a fools guide to wiring etc. I have used megajolt , and wish I hadn't sold it a year ago, so tuning/edis etc no problem. Or would I be better off getting another jolt??
Any advice?? especially on wiring MS, would be fantastic. And no, I am not tempted to efi the car
Cheers

I converted my MS1 to drive the ignition on my bike engine.

If using the MS then you would need to add the output circuitry to drive the coil.

Also you would need to add some input circuitry to condition the input (one of those LM1815 circuits).

Would you use the existing distributor, or go wasted spark (wasted spark would require more than one coil, although motorcycle ones are cheap).

I don't know anything about MegaJolt.

I have a spare megajolt available, I built and fitted it to my car and then changed to EFI so now not needed.
It is an early version and is fitted with a MAP sensor and has a loom with wiring for switchable maps and shift light wiring, i can probably also find a coil pack, crank sensor and edis to go with it.

I have the edis, coilpack etc, but I am interested in how to (simply!!) use the squirt. I am sure it doesn't need anything else apart from the edis etc?? And obviously a triggerwheel/crank sensor??
What is the conditioner all about?
See, I am clueless!

Hmm, just looking on the bay and bought a complete jolt, new unit on MAP (good for the car) plus edis, triggerwheel, loom and a few other odds and ends.
So, looks like a squirt is up for sale.....

signal conditioner takes the VR (variable reluctance) output and converts it into "on/off" format.

I think you have gone the right route with Megajolt as MS1 isn't really designed to do ignition and although you can get it to do it you have to do a lot of work.

I find that interesting..it came off a zetec, and was running sparks and fuel on there, so assumed it wouldn't be too tricky just to do sparks. But as you say, the jolt seems the obvious way to go!
