endura e 1.3 oil leak

Hi, my misses ford KA is leaving a nice black mess on our drive. the sump plug seems tight, and it only seems to leak when its warm. the filter seems ok too. i'm worried its the sump gasket, could it be anything else?

The rocker cover gaskets are very prone to leaking. How far up the block/ head is the leak?

Oil pressure switch can leak too, half way up the block at the back.

Clean the breather pipes out with carb or brake cleaner

in short then, take it out strip it down 'cos it could be anything.

I'd start with the simple things:- breather system and rocker cover gasket...

...after a really good look to see where's it's coming from.

from what i've seen from underneath, i have a feeling it will be the rocker cover gasket which has always looked dodgey to me, or its actually become porous itself... will have another look soon, but i wonder how much a new sump would be... thanks for all replies
