Anyone used Mondeo V6 2.5 Lump?

Hi All,

Thinking about an engine for my next project.
We get a few Mondeo V6's through the workshop. Seem like a good unit.

Has anyone fitted one of these?
Can they be made to work with carbs? Bike carbs? etc.

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers

difficult part is a rwd gearbox, think there's 2 models that fit, 1st the jaguar (ford) S-Type unit, but most are auto boxes second is one i don't remember, but just as hard to find as the jaguar box

I run an ST200 lump in my middy

As far as engine management goes they are pretty simple to rig up to any aftermarket ecu and a session on the rollers will give much better power output with buckets of torque, but its a good idea to gut the secondary butterflies as they complicate things too much.

I would love to find some decent (but inexpensive) throttle bodies and see how much better they would be - I have heard some very good gains can be had. I think that two sets of Triumph triple TBs would make a good mod but haven't done any measurements yet.

Ive got a 2.9 cosworth V6 in the garage that will fit a type 9 straight off. with no modification. It will show 230hp as standard, and i was fitting the two sets of GSXR600 TB's split down to three instead of four. They fit really well, but i havent got to fit it yet, as i have put that part of the project on hold for now.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Nope - I haven't really progressed beyond the 'I wonder ... ' stage yet. Jenvey do a set for some extortionate figure. I was thinking about ways to get a few more ponies out of the engine and TBs seemed the best way although I am not sure what sort of gains are to be had. A single turbo was my other idea

Raz
