Crank regrind in Derbyshire

Anyone any suggestions on where I can get this done local to me without it costing the earth?
it's a 1600 xflow if it makes much of a difference.
Also, will need new bearings after yes? where's best (read cheapest) to get some from

I think Foxwood Engineering in Chesterfield, can regrind cranks, they have done several heads for me, and I'm sure they do crank regrinds too.

They mainly do Diesel stuff, but they do all engine machining, and are VERY helpful, and fast.
My last head was skimmed in 2 hours from dropping it off!!

As for bearings, I'd check the price at BurtonPower and ask at wherever you get it reground. The engineering place will probably be cheaper, and no P&P

grinding

id second foxwood. good job all round, had unleaded conversions done, rebores and crank grinds. my advice would be to gather the specs together from the ford manual so you can give them the figures to grind to.

Try Manx Engines at Coxbench (A61 between Kilburn / Little Eaton) They re bored a Pinto block for me and do head work as well, i'd be surprised if they dont do crank ginds. Try Trechi at Staveley for your bearings, got my pinto bearings and pistons from them, 01246280863.

Tried Manx and the guy just didn't want to know, like it was too much hassle for him to do some actual work. If someone doesn't seem enthusiastic to do a job for me, I dont want him to be doing it as the chances are they'll not be bothered doing it to the level of quality I expect.

John Wilcox was always extremely helpful when I was running a crossflow. Never took the block there but extremely helpful by phone.

Used to drive past that place every few weeks working at a client in Earl Shilton! I've got a couple of numbers to try in the morning now
