Facet interuptor pump

Should I have to prime this pump or should it just pump until pressure is reached,
I only ask as I've put one on and it is either faulty or I'm parranoid! It doesn't click as I would expect it is more like a buzzing? It doesn't slow down at all, fuel seems to be getting to carbs, no return to worry about , not overpowering float needles.
I'm a bit worried about using the car as I don't want to get stranded again!
Any advise?

If it is one of the round ones (as opposed to cube, never used one of those) then the pump should slow when all is primed and full. Is it running flat out even when the engine isn't running? (obviously with power to the pump before anybody says anything )

Yep more than flat out if you ask me!
I know what a normal pump sounds like with the constant click but this is a REAL fast version of that.
The engine was not running no.
They should prime themselves then?

My Facet sounds like yours does once it has fully primed and the pressure regulator has closed.
Goes from a loud Click Click Click to a fast quite hum
