02-03 R1 barnett clutch kit.

Purchased and fitted the barnett kit a while back now and am again suffering from clutch slip. The kit came with 2 sets of springs long black ones and shorter gold coloured ones. Instructions say fit the longer black ones for a bec which i had done ,pedal felt exactly the same as before although i noted others had said their pedal felt stiffer. Yet the shorter gold springs seem harder to compress than the others.
Have now bought all new oem plates and steels but now debating which springs to fit.
Any advise please guys.

I have the same kit for the same engine. I ran with the longer springs for a while but had similar issues. I changed to the gold springs and the clutch is a lot stronger. no problems with it at all after 500 miles (with barnett plates aswell)

Can't you go back to the orginal Pressure plate and do away with the barnett conversion?

I used 2 of the original pressure plates when i had mine, never had a problem.

Cheers for the input guys.
Have now gone with the stronger shorter springs with a washer under each one.
We'll see what happens .

I tried doubling up on the diaphragm springs but the clutch feel was horrible.

I'm currently running all 6 black "race" springs and it seems fine after ~1500miles.

Though I know other people have said run the gold springs with washers.

What thickness washers did you run with the gold springs?
