Red Top engine & Omega gearbox ???

I have a Vauxhall Red Top engine sitting in my workshop.

Sort of planning to fit it in my build, post IVA.

Today I have come uppon a V reg Omega, this is the V6 model & fitted with a manual gearbox.

I am lead to believe that the Omegea gearbox is a direct fit to the Red Top engine.

The big bonus is .... I can buy it for not a lot of money.

The downside is, I have got to remove the box myself.

Before I go through the huge task of removing this gearbox ..... Am I doing the right thing !!??

Are there better gearbox options for the Red Top
Will the Omega gearbox fit in the Haynes Roadster chassis
Are there any other components that will be needed from the Omega

All thoughts would be most welcome

It will bolt straight to it, though the central hydraulic clutch needs to be spaced forwards by a turned up spacer, which is easy enough with the dimensions (I don't have them any more, but Dax do). Mine was fine, good ratios and obviously heavily built....

That would be brilliant Ash, I'll u2 my addres to you

Liam

I'll bear that in mind & thanks for letting me know

I can have the Omega box for only £30

Being as my build has been on hold for most of this year, I am sort of thinking that I might just as well fit the Red top engine before my IVA & have done with it !!
