Diff cover threadlock?

'Morning folks,

Just a quick one - I took my diff cover off to confirm the ratio, and when I replaced it, I torqued up all the bolts to Ford's spec (53Nm I think) but I didn't put any threadlock on them.

Should I be taking it back out of the car to get some loctite on the bolts?

Cheers,
Jek

I wouldn't bother, there are shed loads of them to share the load and it's not like the back of the diff takes a load....

Locost Threadlocker

As stated above, I don´t think you need threadlockr on them.
On a related theme, I use Nail Polish on bolts ans nuts that I don´t want to get undone but not that critical to warrant the use of threadlock.

Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....

So come on then - whats your favourite colour??

If you want to threadlock them, then simply take one out at a time and re-torque each one as you work around. Shouldnt take you to long anyway

Cheers guys, I'll mark them up and keep an eye on them. I can still get access to a few of the bolts so I might undo them and put some thread lock on them just be sure.
