Sounds a little like what some people suffer with the Megasquirt..

There is a back feed If I remember rightly from the Alternator charge light that keeps enough of the Ignition electrics on to run the engine.
If you flash the lights or do something that takes quite abit of power it then stalls the engine.

There should be a post on here by me or others about where to put a Diode to stop it if you have the above symptoms aswell.

Yeh usually feed back from alt light or fan, stick a diode on them both should at tell you if you're in the right area. diodes are like 1 way valves for electrickey.

Wondering if your fan just happened to be on that time??

Cheers

Rich

First instinct is "Cos you fecked something up... again"

Sounds like an alternator back feed. Have you had any wires of there?

Adi.. haha.. you really should be kinder to me. 12 months ago I didn't know what a spark plug was and now I have fitted 2 heads in one week and timed vernier pullies up with gauges twice. The only reason why the gasket went was it ended up to be an el cheapo and the head was skimmed down so much the compression was up (plus it overheating as I maybe hadn't got all the air out )

You've wounded me mate.. boo hooo

Didnt have anything off the alternator or the fan. However.. there is a yellow unmarked light on the dash that is on/intermittent/off so maybe a loose connection somewhere.

Sorry mate. Think you've done well to have it back running.

Moral of the story... Never skimp on a head gasket.

Did it run-on before? Are there any trapped wires?

No didn't run on before and I'll check. The dash light is a change and have to find out what its a light for. I'll have to do a wiring search but not really gone near anything
