zetec info

Ok,here's a question for the house.

Does anybody know if the 2.0 zetec from a cougar is the same as one from a mondeo?
The reason i ask is i found a decompression plate on eblag but it is listed for a cougar.
All the info i have found on the web suggests that it is.
As always any help or info will be greatly received,

cheers,

andy

Crikey, what a question, I would say they are the same although slightly conflicting data from here and here although the difference in standard power could be down to fuelling??

Cock on the block time and I'll say yes...

(how much is it, if it all goes wrong )

BTW, the conflicting data was the engine code in the ad was for a cougar but says it was removed from a mondy...

Cheers

Rich

Cheers Rich.BTW how's the conversion going?

And cheers Warren.I'll buy the plate tonight.

Going well mate, thanks for asking, just got my catch bottle mounted and aux belt fitted and messed about getting the idler pulley to work, just waiting for my hoses to turn up and I can then get coolant in it and get it started.

Pictures in my gallery if you can be arsed...

Cheers

Rich

The different power output between the variants of the 2.0 black top in their native installations are down to the external components that are connected to the engine - the internal bits are all the same. The externally mounted bits including inlet pipework, inlet and exhaust manifolds, throttle bodies and ECU vary depending on the donor car, as do the ancillaries attached such as PAS and A/C pumps.

Once all this is stripped off, then engines are the same.
