Timing belt suppliers
Hi all,
I have looked on flea bay and I am amazed at the prices for timing belts. Does any one know of a good supplier who is in the "locost"
price range. I need a belt for a 2.0 black top zetec 97. Its all I need now to put my lump back together. (Other than some nice magic fairies to make
me a sump aswell...locost...anyone...?..!)

Escort Fiesta Mondeo Orion 1.6 1.8 2.0 16V Timing Belt on eBay (end time 24-Jan-11 11:41:47 GMT)
Does that fit? (I don't know which cars had black tops in them but search by the ford model rather than by Zetec - you'll find a lot
more)
£12-18 for the belt
£50-70 for belt + tensioner etc. (kit)
That seems to be the normal rate for these things, so I wouldn't say the zetec stuff on the bay is overpriced. However, it costs the same in
motor factors generally so depending on whether you've got any good ones around where you live, that may be a better option.

Its one thing not to skimp on.
I picked up a "Gates" belt at the local place. It wasnt dear.

Ditto, just visit motor factors, and get a branded one, not something you want to cut costs on.
