carb for 2.0 sierra DOHC?
Hiya
what carb will fit the 2.0 sierra DOHC, curently got a weber 2v tld on it, but wondering if it's possible to change to an older / simpler
weber?

yep, preferably same manifold. unless of course it's a simple swap to a different one. It's got the crappy engine management system
too!

I'd guess the 32/36 DGAV is the sort of thing your after or one of the similar ones (the one from RS2000's / 3.0 essex V6's), it
should be the right size but I can't tell you if it'll fit onto the manifold you've got without modifing it...
failing that bike carbs are an option (ZX6R / R6 or similar should do for a basic spec engine) but you'd need to make/buy a manifold
when you say engine managment, is that just the electronic dizzy & amp ?

a 38 DGAS or the equivallent manual choke version, cant remember the abreviation, from an essex ot cologne V6 is a popular upgrade, as both chokes
operate simoutaneously rather than progressively.
I understand the later Pintos had a smaller footprint 'ford weber' carb, so a manifold from an early sierra capri or cortina 2.0L would be
needed.
Ignore this lot, I misread DOHC.....

you wont find another carb manifold for a dohc. The carb model is rare, the head is differant to the efi dohc and is differant to any other ford.

back to plan B, put a decent motor in it!
can't even source a carb gasket kit at the moment....

no budget, it's a rolling project, and I spend as little as I have to  but unless I can get the bloody thing to run I can't MoT this
year, so there won't be much rolling
open to suggestions, was going to go rover v8 (cos I've got a mate with a good one for sale), but it's not looking good to get it to fit,
plus that means new box and prop too
so anything that will fit a MT75 box is favourite, was thinking maybe 2.8i capri / granada - if I can find one - couple of the guys in the club have
this option so I know it will go in

So you want a zetec then. I could fit one of them cheaper than any of the above and it will mount to your box.

the ford 2.8/2.9 V6's have a diffrent bellhousing pattern and are heavy for the power they make (they do sound good though)
a 1.8 or 2.0 zetec would be the nearest thing to a strait swap and they've got up to 130bhp as standard with loads of tunning options

I think the version of the engine only affects the choice of flywheel, starter and what sump mods are needed - but I'm not an expert on fitting
zetecs (I've got a pinto + type9 for mine)
there are quite a few old threads on fitting zetecs, try a few searches
are you looking for an engine thats ready to drop in or would you consider one in need of a rebuild ?
(I know where there is a 2.0 silvertop thats done a few miles - comes with a free mondeo )

really need something that doesn't need work - engine rebuilds aren't the best idea outside I think
done a fair bit of reading up, my only concern is the possibility of having to chop the sump about to get the starter to fit....
