whats an acceptable afr reading?

i have now got my car running, and am using an aem digital wideband kit with bosch sensor. i have only had it idling on tickover for a few minutes at a time to check for leaks etc. the guage was reading at around 14 on tickover from cold but didnt seem to change much once warm! is this normal and whats a reasonable reading? cheers

About 14 is about right but should be at wot (wide open throttle)

Cheers

You'll be wanting around 14 at idle on most engines (leaner on newer engines will be ok, older engines tend to misfire). Cruise can be as lean as 15:1 on most engines, leaner on some. WOT, assuming non-turbo, you'll be looking around 12.5-13.5:1 but its very engine-specific. Don't go leaner on WOT. 12.5:1 is about as lean as I'd want to go on-boost with a turbocharged car, safer to stay richer.

This is a fairly generic AFR table:

Maybe a tad lean around 1100rpm super-low load cells.
