whirring/wining noise
Got a whirring/wining noise from what seems to be from my opel manta getrag gearbox bellhousing.
Does it with clucth in and out usually when of the throttle.Could it be clutch release bearing or something more serious.

if you press the clutch pedal and the noise get quieter then it's the bearing. I changed the clutch on a manta a long time ago, simple but the
gearbox is very heavy

Whirring noises under load usually means dead box, so when clutch is in and not moving probably means release bearing

Does it with clutch in and out when engine is slowing down.So guess it is the release bearing it is making a horrible noise how long will it last as
will require engine out to get to which I would rather do in the winter. Also where can I buy the release bearing had a full 1.8 carlton clutch when
built 10000 miles ago.
Thanks Matty
