Sierra LSD questions

Afternoon, y'all.

Rebuilding my rear end (ooo errr....) at the moment, and almost ready to drop it in. But, I've rebuilt the rear drive shafts and cleaned & painted most of the diff, but noticed the back plate is crammed full of crud and I can't get it off in situ. My plan was to remove the back plate, thoroughly clean it up and re-attach. In the process, I was going to replace the bolts attaching it as they're starting to round off and are rusty.

Can anyone tell me the following, please;
a) I presume when the rear cover comes off, it is just a cover and directly replacable with the new bolts? ie. nothing needs to be re-set or adjusted internally?
b) If there's a gasket for the cover, or whether a light seal of oil-resistant mastic/gasket sealant/blue or similar will suffice? I looked on the EPC and can't see a listing for a gasket, but just checking.
c) The settings the bolts need to be torqued to for the rear cover plate?
d) The torgue for the driveshaft to hub & diff bolts?

Thanking you all!

a) you are right, it;s just a cover
b) no gasket, no mastic, no nothing
c) quite tight, but not enough to round off the bolts!
d) no idea, haynes manual might list the torque required?

e) when all the oil comes out because you've removed the cover in situ, don't let it get on anything you care about. It's horrible stuff and stinks to high heaven. It'll cost you £15 in oil to fill it back up too - I'd be wondering if it was worth it to clean a bit of your diff that noone will ever see.....
:-)

I think it would be wise to put a light smear of instant gasket on the joint otherwise it could leak. I am pretty certain that there is a jointing compound of some sort used when originally manufactured although it might not be all that obvious at first glance when you take it apart.

Cheers

Thanks Davg; although the driveshaft hub nut isn't what I was after (I think). I should have been clearer - I meant the lobro CV joints on the driveshaft to diff; if this is the same, I apologise in advance!!!
