LDV Pilot LT77 gearbox on 7 racer with Mi16 XU9J4 engine

Hi there. I am currently trying to connect a Peugeot Mi16 XU9J4 engine to the rear wheels of a 7 racer and I wonder if I could use an LDV Pilot LT77 gearbox for the job.

The car is as far as I know built on the basis of Ron Champions 'Build your own sportscar for as little as £250'. If anyone would know if this would fit the car or not, I would be very happy as I'm afraid the box will be too big to fit.

If no one knows if the box will fit or not, I will need to find out my self. For that I would need the measurements of the gearbox.

I know this might be asking to much, but I figure I will not get any answers if I do not ask. Any help would be much appreciated:

If possible, I would like to know

1. how wide the box itself (excluding the bellhousing) is at the widest point.
2. how long the box itself is.
3. how wide it is at the end.
4. the distance from top to bottom of the box it self at the biggest point (still excluding the bellhousing).
5. Would also be interested in the diameter of the shaft that goes into the spigot bearing in the crankshaft (I am however not sure if these boxes use a spigot bearing).
6. The length of the axle driven by the clutch measured from the face of the gearbox itself.

Any comments or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.

I have a couple of gearboxes out of a Sherpa which I think are the same. I'll try to get some piccies and dimensions in the next day or so.

I'm am still in need of these measurements. If anyone has them I would be very happy... Measurements for either LT77 or R380 'box would be fine. Hope this isn't asking too much.

Cheers, Lochraceness
