if at first you don't succeed
Just an update on the thread "stuck diff bolt" - link below - for those who might attempt this in the future!

Dusty is correct - although I didn't know this at the time - and you can just lever out the seals. However I still can't get mine out
probably as the diff is on the bench and I can't get the leverage.
Madteg is also right they are B++stds to get out.
A combination of RustyNuts and Keithometune finally worked after about 3 hours - due to me not the technique - as below.
The first nut (13mm) I tried to weld on broke off quickly as I couldn't get the penetration in the hole through to the stuck bolt head which is
chamfered so I tried welding a bolt into the hole. This weld was good but the 8.8 bolt just twisted
So i sawed off the bolt head and decided to drill a hole in a piece of 6mm bar 1m long and weld this to the bolt shaft sticking out - this just
twisted the rest of the bolt in half
I then added more weld to the last 1/2 inch of bolt shaft sticking out the stuck bolt and slipped over a 17mm nut. This meant I could weld around the
base of the nut and weld into the hole to the shaft - success
So for the second bolt I just welded a piece of bolt shaft into the ruined Torx hole - repeated and job done.
And the seals are still stuck in there - but I'm hoping that when I work out how to get the castelated bearing carriers out I can do this with a
press or something.
In summary I'm not much further forward but I wasn't going to let them stuck bolts beat me.
Thanks to those offering advice which was spot on chaps.

The castelated bearing carriers are a struggle also, they have a fine thread also a rubber 'O' ring seal, dig out all the rubbish in the
grove and soak in penetrating oil or parafin before attempting to move.
Someone on here had a tool made to fit the castelations for £25 recently (memory fades on this), for myself, mine would not move initially so I warmed
the outside of the casing with a blow torch then was able to slowly work the carriers out, although minus a few lugs. I just used a rod of steel
across the whole thing.

Just googled this, worth it IMHO
