Where's this supposed to go???
Afternoon all,
Hows things?
Just been looking at the car, I've found this sender dangling in the engine bay.
It's a 2.0l zetec with Mt75 box.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

It is indeed an inlet air temperature sensor and is located in the platic air feed pipe housing thing

Thanks for the clarification, but...
...the engine in the car has throttle bodies fitted, and as I can see, there is nowhere for the sensor to bolt into.
So will it be ok if I just secure it somewhere near the trumpets or will it need to be bolted into the intake manifold?
Cheers,
Chris

You need it to see the same temperature as the air that is going into the engine.
MS uses it to compensate for air density (i.e. hot air is less dense, so you need less fuel for the same air-fuel-ratio).
Whether it needs to be into airbox depends on how hot things get. You can probably get away with putting it after the filter.
