Where can custom length v belts be got?
Also is it a bad idea to run a normal v belt say with a tensioner that makes it bend the other way...

Apparently most farm equipment suppliers can accomodate.

you will probably destroy the belt if you put a tensioner on the back as v belts are only designed to drive via the tapered sides not the top or
bottom. And really are too thick to bend the opposite way.
If you want an odd size belt you could fit a link or brammer belt as they are often called which can be made to any length.

Try your local motor factors, they may be able to help. Gates belts amongst others have the size on the packaging and they also supplied a device to
measure the belt and even give the correct part number.

Cheers, the bend isn't too severe but I'll see about getting ribbed type pulleys and belt instead..
