Has anyone put Yamaha FZS600 carbs on a 1.8 Zetec or 1.8 CVH?

Just after any heads up if it has been done with these carbs before or not.

Not getting anywhere fast with injection system so wish to have another avenue.

Stick with injection! Megasquirt- cheap and easy to setup

The injection is using the standard ECU and building up own plenum, getting stuck doing mounts for throttle mount and idle control at present, I also have a Megajolt sitting there with options of both TPS and MAP with EDIS and coil packs.

Not giving up, no not at all.

On the Zetec silvertop, I have stuck the 1.8 CVH flywheel on , got the 36 tooth pulley again from CVH on the front of the Zetec, sorted out alternator and water pump. The plan is still to use the standard ECU, and I guess I could troll ebay until a griffin style plenum comes up.

But I also have a full Megajolt set-up I have had for a while that could eventually go in the first car either with bike carbs on the CVH or with a another Zetec I have. Found carbs at £25 so just asking if anyone done it, standard seems to be the fireblade carbs.

I am after a side distraction to the second build that is taking a long time!

my 2l is using honda hornet 600 carbs and jetted to 1.3mm as they are small carbs, whats important is the ability to respace them to make them fit a homemade manifold easily using fairly straight runners or to make a more complex inlet manifold with bends to suit the zetec and carbs as standard.

Fastdan should be able to help you with a kit if you tell him the carb spacing and send you a kit for you to get welded up or he can weld it up for you??

Cheers

Rich

At least with megajolt + EDIS you could swap to megasquirt at at later date, keeping the EDIS.

For your setup i would advise mapping the megajolt on TPS.

I would say if you go for megasquirt now you wouldn't need the idle valve, most folks use bike throttle bodies, the bike TPS works fine with MS.

Good luck with your project.
