Crossflow cam
Hi all
I'm just looking for a bit of advice really.
I've currently got a bcf2 cam installed on my 1660cc crossflow but i'm thinking of upgrading the cam to something with a bit more grunt!
Currently i have 1300 pistons so i know i'm going to require some machining but can anyone offer a bit of advice on what sort of cam i'm
likely to benefit from or cams to stay clear of or experiences people have had good or bad.
Many thanks
Leon

I used a Kent 244 in a x-flow some years ago to really good effect. The engine was probably producing about 145 bhp on 40's and 150 bhp when I
changed to 45's. It was tractable in town, pulled like train to 7,800 rpm (my red line) and never let me down. I used 1300+60 powermax pistons
since standard 1300 (or 1600) pistons have a habit of breaking up at decent revs. Had a 1700 before that fitted with a 234, that used 1300+90 pistons
but I limited revs to 7,000. It was good for about 130 bhp but had more below 4,000. Both really good cams.

The BCF3 can be used without machining pistons (though always pays to check clearances!).
