How much boost on 10.2 CR?

As above really, how much boost would a standard blacktop (ST170) take before detonation takes over?

AND, how much power?

Dont know about the specific engine but with compression ratio of 10.2 I dont think any boost will be welcomed

Not alot, fit a 2mm decompresion plate and run 8psi and get about 230-240BHP

I'm on 10:1 compression ration and running just under 1bar on a blacktop. But this is a Rotrex which makes max boost at max revs so not like a turbo.

It depends on the cam, if you have long duration cams (aka bike engines) then the actual compression is much less as the valves are open before and after BDC.

If the engine is designed to run on 93ron, you can probally boost by around 6PSI and run on Optimax.

Also do not forget every PSI restriction in the exhaust counts against the boost, effectively raising the CR, so make sure its as free flowing as possible.

Regards Mark

Guys running JDM F20Cs at 11.7:1 comp get away with 1 bar on SUL.

Just a case of retarding the timing.
