Pinto throttle linkages
I've just taken the throttle linkage off the carb from my old 2.0 pinto as I was intending to use it on the 1.6, but it doesn't fit? Are
there any modifications I can do to make it fit or so I just need to source one from a 1.6 with same carb as I am running?

Should be the same assuming both had the same type of manifolds and twin choke Weber carbs ?

Haven't compare manifolds but the linkage bolts to this one so presume same, carb I'm using is a webber 34ich though and not another twin
choke.

The linkage arms are different between the two.
It would be worth you just putting the twin choke 2 litre carb and manifold onto the 1600. I did this several times back in the days of Cortinas and
Capris and it always added a few more horsepower moving it closer to the 2 litre for no detriment. At your leisure you can then look out for 1600 GT
jets to suit the twin choke which will get the mixture spot on if you need to. The Capri 1600 S had the twin carb and manifold as standard which
raised it's performance above the single carb versions (L/ GL, Cortinas etc) so it's an established, reliable path and the carb jets are
available if you want to change them (lots didnt).
With a twin choke weber and free flow exhasut you should be able to meet the standard 2 litre pinto for power output. Also you will then be in a
position to think about fitting a slightly hotter camshaft later if you wanted to raise the bhp a bit further.
As an aside they often fitted the 2 litre Transits with the single choke carb from the 1600 to reduce the bhp so it's a known performance
restriction.

Thanks for the tip. Will have to make a quick decision as I've got the twin choke on eBay as I wasnt intending to use it.
Will maybe give it a go this weekend and go from there. Cheers.
