Zetec Flywheel - Advice please

Morning,

I have a 2.0 Silvertop needing a flywheel.
I believe from my research on here that this will do - Ford Focus MK1 Flywheel (1.8 Zetec) 98-05
Agreed?

Then I will need the Finis bearing + Ct133 Release + 2.0 Mondeo Clutch
Agree?

I love payday............

Bill

Not the 2.0 clutch as that should be 240mm You will want the 1.8 clutch (220mm) from a car that had an mtx 75 gearbox so that it has the 1" 23 spline centre.

The rest looks good if going to a type 9 but there are more than one ways to do what you want.

Dont forget the spigot bearing for the end of the crank.

OK, 1.8 Flywheel + 1.8 Clutch = Common Sense.

Yes going on a Type 9

Other suggestions on doing this Wasa then ??? "but there are more than one ways to do what you want"

Just planning on getting on the road with this set up, power upgrades etc much later, but seemed way to go for a bit of cheap lightness as got to buy flywheel anyway.

Get this sorted then its propshaft + engine and gearbox mounts and I can offer the lump in, whoop !

I think you'll need shorter flywheel bolts, more info here: http://www.zetec-cat.co.uk/

as I understand it part of the problem with getting the right clutch is that the std. 1.8 focus uses the IB5 gearbox which has a 20mm x 17 spline inputshaft with a 220mm clutch

type 9 boxes have 1" x 23 spline input shafts, the same as the MTX75 boxes used on the 2.0 focus, but that uses the 240mm clutch.....

the 2.0 pinto clutch is 215mm to suit a 1" x 23 spline

I have to say that I've never fitted a zetec to a type9, but I did take a few measurments of my type 9's and my tin-top (1.8 focus) when I had its clutch out anyway

As big wasa said, Mk1 Mondeo 1.8 (petrol) clutch is 220mm with the correct splines. Focus 1.8 Flywheel will be fine, you don't need special bolts, although new ones might be sensible?! CCT133 is the correct release bearing, but I ended up with a LUK item that measures the same so hopefully it will work. Top tip for the spigot bearing- don't hammer it in too far! Stop when the end face is level with the inside chamfer in the end of the crank.

Well, that was my shopping list for a blacktop anyway, but it's not running yet!

From memory you only need the shorter bolts with a modified fly' or a cvh fly' 2.0 + 1.8 should be the same bolts If you want shorter then the auto has them.

Bolts

Ok, needed to make a few adjustments to my dust plate then fitted the spigot bearing (to just inside chamfer edge -thx Merc)
Put the flywheel on (1.8 Focus fits great - thx Wasa), then started fitting the bolts, well it was 10 at night and suddenly I thought "ah do these need washers?''
Tried to convince myself to torque them up, but late night paranoia(spellcheck) set in......

At work for 0515hrs this morning so no chance to check.

So, no washers ?????

lol no the diesel wont fit.

Its the 1.8cvh the dohc or a pinto with a spacer. In true ford parts bin stylee there is more than one type of motor that will fit the donor but not your kit lol.

You ar elooking for a narrow body starter. Somthing like a lucas lrs707 from memory.
