Bike Carbs
hello im running bike carbs on my 1.8 zetec.
can i pass an SVA on bike carbs? i think i can, just want a second opinion

Depends.
What is the year of your engine ? Pre 95 is what you want.
Are you running a cat ? If post 95 you'll need one ( engine & carbs setup correctly as well)
Oh and it isn't sva anymore it was changed recently (about 5 years ago) to IVA.

Am I correctly led to believe that setting up a carb'ed engine to post 95 emissions rules is notoriously difficult? Or is it not as bad as some
people make out?

Not difficult at all, set the carbs as best as you can then fit the cat. A tame MOT station is useful or someone with a Gunson emissions tester.

My 1993 zetec passed SVA with a set of ZX9R carbs straight off the bike.. JUST!
