Bike pump problem

Hello guys
I have a ZX6 pump issue on my setup. When i turn the power on, the pump just makes one click and stops even though the system is empty. It makes one click sometimes when i turn it off.
Then i removed the hose going to carbs to see what is up. It spits a little bit of fuel when it makes that one click during turn-off and that's it. Before it used to do like that only if you turned it on when the system was full. Does it sense false pressure or something?
Anybody knows what can it be? I have connected the pump directly to the battery to make sure it was not my relay, but nothing changed.

I know its pump related but what i want to know is whether i need a new pump already or can it be jammed, hence cleaned or something like that.
The pump was working without problems when the engine broke. Then it was not used for few months until i put a new engine in and tried to fire it up for the first time today.

Worth checking that you haven't got any blockages (inlet, outlet or within the pump). The pumps supply over a litre per minute at a couple of psi. I tested mine off the car using tap water.

It will be the contacts on the pump, take the black plastic cap off the back and you will see the contacts. Clean them with some emery paper and it should be OK. If not, its cooked

You can buy rebuild kits for the Mitsubishi pumps (which I assume yours will be?).

I keep a stock of pumps so if you do find you need a new one give me a shout.

What would the price be for a ZX6 pump? 2002 model (thats what mine is).

I have removed the cover and metalic parts inside have rust and oxidation. Have no idea how it affects the points. I have connected the pump directly to the battery and the points work, the unit makes a click but the pump itself does not rumble.

I have looked at it closer now and there is a shaft sticking out in the section where points are. That should be the pump shaft right? That thing is stuck. I can not rotate it. Should it be that way?

OK guys looks like I have fixed the pump. Just cleaned everything and reassembled. It is a very interesting design (for those who do not know). Battery power activates the magnet which overcomes the spring and pulls the diaphragm down but it is designed to separate two points when its pressed back which deactivates the magnet and the spring pushes the diaphragm forward, pumping the fuel but at the same time reconnecting points again.

In my case the power was activating the magnet, pulling the diaphragm down but somehow the points were not being disconnected as it happened. That's why it was making one click during turn on and then throwing a little bit of fuel out once the power was cut (diaphragm was being pushed up by spring again due to power disconnection).
