Weber Carbs - some info required please!
Hi Everyone,
I have just brought my Ford Sierra 1.8 donor (Ebay £52 - has a smashed windscreen so noone wants it). I have seen a weber twin choke carb also on Ebay
from a 2000cc Mk5 Cortina as cheap as chips.
Can anyone tell me if this will fit my 1.8 pinto, and (more importantly) will it increase the power (through more petrol consumption).
Also is a twin choke Weber the same as twin carbs?
Thanks a lot and apologies for my ignorance. What can I say - I'm an accountant!
Thanks a lot,
Mark (now all I've got to do is do is strip it down, and build a car!)

Twin choke isn't the same as twin carbs!
You might find you've already got a Weber twin choke on there already but if not there are quite a few of them so you'll need to find out which one
it is before we can say if it'll fit or not. In any case it'll probably be just a case of changing the manifold.

Picked up the Sierra this weekend. Drove from Sheffield to Leeds in it. Let's just say the engine is only useful as a boat anchor! AA man thought
i was having a larf, and wondered why i was driving with a crash helmet on, until he noticed the lack of windscreen.
So, now I have no engine, is it still the best value for money option to go for a Pinto, bearing in mind a fairly careful budget?
The next one i make (yeah right!) might well be bike/turbo'd but lrts see how thew basic one goes...Any ideas??
