New Model Engineering Center

Scotland features a Model Engineering Centre near Broxburn in West Lothian. I went along to one of their members days and I was most entertained. I took a video of my exploits. It is different to the normal car stuff but the enthusiasm is the same.

Nice track - I used to do that sort of thing, building and running an 0-4-2 version of Sweet Pea (5" gauge). This is the little sister to the 7.25" gauge Sweet William shown in the video. Just about the same colour scheme too! Mine had a coal & water tender to match.

This managed to get a half-page picture in the auctioneer's glossy catalogue (see the picture). The only hobby I've ever had where I've sold something for considerably more than the cost of the component parts! Just don't add in the man-hours...
