Rover v8 flex/drive plates

I am going to mate my Rover V8 to a ZF 8HP45 (SD1 project)
The easiest way is to bolt the torque converter (and box are both from a BMW) to the driveplate. L/Rover seems a bit odd that they have a flexplate then spacer then driveplate.
The L/R driveplate is smaller than the pcd of bolt holes on t/c..
Does anyone know what the driveplate would be made from, then I could get someone like Fractory to make one (or buy the right steel and do it myself).
Thanks

You may find this a very odd response but I would register on the “MGExperience” forum then ask on the “MG Engine Swaps Forum” part. There are some very smart people on there with regard to swapping auto gearboxes including one who is swapping a GM auto gearbox into an MGB. Respect the answers from the like of Jim Nicholls and Jim Blackwood, they really know what they are talking about. They are a helpful lot even if you don’t drive an MGB
