Never seen it done jetting would be a problem best guess would be be to stat with needles from an Avenger 1600 GT (early type later models used
single 1.75" carb).

Think there used to be a conversion kit way back in the 60s for the pre xflow engines that used twin strombergs how good it was I've no idea.
Stromberg conversions never seemed to be as popular as an S.U. kit. Parts for strombergs may be a problem to get hold of these days ?

Jacko,
Have you had to rejet them from 1.3l to 2.0l. ?
Did you make the manifold your self, it looks good.
How do they perform?

su carbs
Hi ive had the metro needles in them for 6 months and it runs ok im going to try some other needles the same as rover use on there2300cc engines . The
performance is good and they only cost 12pound each carb .i made the manifold and linkages my self .and it dose not freeze like some say it would. It
has px air filters now out the side for cold air Jacko

Hi Kitlooney 1000 - Unfortunately I do not have any more photos than the ones in my photo archive the manifold is made up of a piece of steel
1/8" thick by 3" by the length you need for your engine the tubes were made of steel tubing to suit your inlet bores in the head. You have
not said what size engine you are using but I would have thought 1.75SU's would be too big for a cross flow engine. Have a look at what size are
fitted to a mini engine when they have twin su's on probably 1.5 su's . Let me know how you get on if you try this mod Im happy with mine
and have no immediate plans to swap to juice gobbling webbers . Jacko

Engine is 1700 crossflow with lightened and balanced bottom. Burton A14 Cam. Gas flowed head with hi flow exhaust, at the mo it is running a twin
choke DGEV 28/36 maybe that i have modified the second choke to come in a little earlier. If you thought the XR2 have a kick on second choke, you
should try this one. Could need new kidneys soon.
Another possiblity for a carb might be the DGAS 38/38. Not so good for cruising, but better for acceleration.
