A few people have fitted the gsxr engine so it is posible, but i believe it's oil cooled mainly so you would need an oil cooler in place of a
normal rad !

thanks for that i just fancied something with a bit more torque bottom end. I think there is a water cooled version of that engine but maybe a lot
more expensive to buy

The oil cooled engines are known for their reliability (i'm fitting one in my Locost), but the watercooled ones are probably better in a road
car due to being errrrr watercooled!

The watercooled motor is very strong and more powerful than the air/oil cooled motor as it has much larger valves and ports. Standard power is getting
on for 150bhp, but can be quite easily modified for 180bhp. This engine was the mainstay of Sidecar racing until the regs went to 1 litre engines, so
there are lots of bits available like baffled low-line sumps, Dyna2000 ignition, cams, big-bore kits etc.
It also has sidedraught carbs which won't stick out of your bonnet...
The oil- cooled motor is also very strong but needs a lot of cylinder head modification to flow the same amount of air as the standard water-cooled.
It will still make 130 (ish)bhp though, and there are also tons of tuning goodies available. Maybe a couple of hundred pounds cheaper to buy.
These are great engines! I had an 1147WP in my Mallock hillclimb car and it was awesome.

You can get a full bike for <£1000 so thats probably the best option.

1.3 cross flow out of a escort i think not sure how easy it would be to change to a engine with a bit of grunt.

I aint sure Adam thats how i bought it, the guy i got it off was going to build a sidecar but theyd changed the cc limit or something so he was
getting rid, i havent had it apart yet. the guy i got it off reckoned it should be good for somewhere between 160 - 180 bhp tho, Martin at MK reckoned
it be quicker than a blade, I only decided to use the wc version to make cooling easier.
